Payroll Administrator

This role is a key member of Constellation’s Finance team. Working closely with HR team, this role will own Constellation’s payroll operations to successfully complete bi-weekly payroll and equity related special payroll based on employees’ stock option exercise information. Problem-solving abilities and strong attention to details to produce high quality and accurate deliverables and calculations are crucial for the success in this position.  This role will be supporting our rapidly growing organization of 150+.  We are #BrighterTogether.

In this role you will:

  • Manage the timely and accurate payroll process, including regular and special payrolls 
  • Prepare journal entries for payroll and accrual entries 
  • Partner with Human resource colleagues for new hire onboarding 
  • Respond to confidential questions from employees regarding paychecks, direct deposits, tax deductions, and/or general payroll questions 
  • Review all quarterly and annual tax filings prepared by Payroll vendor, including W-2 forms, addressing any exceptions and errors prior to finalization 
  • Assist in the quarterly and year-end audit process including managing materials to support audit requirements/requests and interactions with auditors 
  • Participate in other payroll related audits, including annual 401(k) and workers’ compensation audits 
  • Partner closely with Human Resources to ensure timely and accurate employee transactions and to provide ad hoc confidential support 
  • Create and update US payroll policies and process documents for internal control, as needed 
  • Support potential system implementations and upgrades including HRIS and ERP  



  • Timely process special equity payroll accordingly to meet IRS requirements 
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of relevant payroll tax withholdings 


We are looking for people who:

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 
  • Have 5+ years of Payroll experience, ADP payroll experience and stock administration a plus 
  • Are knowledgeable of multi-state and federal labor laws, pay practices and policies 
  • Understand internal controls (including Sarbanes-Oxley documentation) related to payroll and equity 
  • Have a basic knowledge of accounting principles (“GAAP”) 
  • Have outstanding verbal, written and technology communication skills successfully working with all levels of the organization; high proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) 
  • Proven history keeping sensitive information confidential 
  • Reputation for integrity, high quality work and commitment to compliance
