IT Business Analyst, Drug Development

This is a newly created role, reporting to the Lead Business Analyst, and will support our Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Medical Affairs, and Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) departments.  The IT Business Analyst  is responsible for ensuring the proper technology solutions are identified and deployed in a timely manner. The primary objective is to enable the organization to bring safe and effective pharmaceutical products to patients. #BrighterTogether

This position has three central areas of responsibility: core Business Analyst activity; technical proficiency in our chosen cloud-platform for regulated processes, Veeva; and general functional management.


 In this role you will:

  • Develop and exercise strategic capabilities to support the full spectrum of in-scope business processes
  • Drive change management, including planning and execution of the deployment of solutions which enhance effectiveness while minimizing disruptions
  • Ensure maximum value extraction from deployed systems by ensuring users are trained and supported
  • Identify future systems, enhancements or modifications that will further enhance effectiveness
  • Work with Enterprise Architect to ensure holistic solutions for the overall enterprise
  • Ensure data integration between systems in conformance with privacy standards and policies
  • Manage strategic vendor/partner selection and relationship
  • Deploy regulated (validate) systems for the review and cataloging of promotional material
  • Administer Veeva Vault and a develop a deep understanding of how it is applied to the in-scope departments from an IT perspective, as well as select planned or in-use modules (e.g. RIM, Quality, CDMS, etc.) and how they integrate
  • Automate cross module process / workflows
  • Define business cases and gain support for IT
  • Conduct stakeholder analysis and communication plan
  • Stay current in knowledge and appreciation of all applicable IT, pharmaceutical, healthcare and privacy laws/regulations along with Constellation’s own policies
  • Manage budget, forecasting, and licenses


We are looking for people who:

  • Have 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Demonstrated verbal and written skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in developing and managing external business partner relationships
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining production IT solutions
  • Possess in-depth knowledge and application of Veeva (or equivalent) in general and detailed knowledge of Veeva Vault (or equivalent) and its related components
  • Have Veeva certifications (preferred)
  • Have an understanding of and experience with drug development process across identified departments and how each contributes to the process
  • Are knowledgeable on relevant regulatory agencies involved with pharmaceutical development in the US and globally (e.g. understands requirements stemming from CFR Part11 in the US)
  • Have an understanding of privacy requirements such as GDPR and the potential implication on clinical development
