Company Culture

"No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars or sailed to an uncharted land or opened a new heaven to the human spirit."

- Helen Keller

A sense of optimism and determination is an integral part of the spirit at Constellation.  Each member of our team is committed to addressing the unmet medical needs of patients and to instilling integrity in everything we do. We are passionate about our work, strive for scientific breakthroughs, and view each day as an opportunity to educate and learn from each other.  We work hard and play hard. Whether it's a charity bike race, family fun or getting together after work, we enjoy our colleagues' company outside of the labs and meeting rooms. We believe that the key to a successful company is maintaining a group of passionate, challenged, appreciated, and rewarded employees.

Each year, Constellation's employees select two of their colleagues who most exemplify the company's core FIRST values.

I joined Constellation because the enthusiasm was contagious from the moment I walked in the door. The energy for and the commitment to the research being done here is unlike any other place I have worked. The desire to better the lives of those afflicted with cancer resonates with everyone here on both a personal and professional level. However, it is much more than just the energy, commitment and desire. The people, more than anything else, at Constellation make coming to work every day so incredibly fun and so hugely rewarding.

I joined Constellation because of the people I met when I first interviewed here.  They were passionate and excited about the science and it made a great first impression. This atmosphere, coupled with the hands-on knowledge, of epigenetics/drug discovery and the potential to explore a novel class of therapeutics, was very exciting and attractive. Additionally, the potential to develop new treatments for cancer was close to my heart – my mother is a survivor of breast cancer.

The moment I walked into Constellation, I noticed that there was something different about the pulse of the company.  I felt like the team here was out to change the world and there was no challenge too large to overcome.  I was looking for the opportunity to work with world-class scientific and business talent to help build a company that will help shape the biotechnology industry for years to come – and Constellation embodied these elements!

My previous employer was on its last leg in the early winter of 2009 when I met up with my long time friend Craig for lunch at his “new office”. This office proved to be directly across the street from where I had been working and during that one fortuitous lunch with Craig, I was hired as a consultant for Constellation and made the short move with my belongings from one side of the street to the other. I worked as a consultant for 9 months, “interviewing” with the team along the way, learning about the culture and science behind Constellation and eventually becoming an official part of the Constellation family in October.

From that initial lunch with Craig, I could see that Constellation was a special place to work. The science was amazing but the people were even more so. The commitment and dedication of each and every person here is palpable. I am proud to be a member of this family.
